Warpaint Lip Gloss Review

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year~!  Did Santa bring you everything you wanted?

I want to tell you about Warpaint, which is Hot Topic's new line of cosmetics.  There's eye shadows, eye liners, lip syrups and glosses,  perfume, and even color stay and dry shampoos.  I'm always wary about trying  new brands of make-up,  but right now Warpaint is buy one get one free, plus my employee discount, so I thought I would finally try it!

"Hot Mess"

This is a color I have never worn, but I thought it would look good with my purple hair.  The first thing I noticed when I opened it and gave it a squeeze was how highly pigmented it was.  I wore Etude Lip Concealer in both pictures, but honestly, I don't think it's needed.

"Brightest Pink"

The lip gloss retails for $5.00, and right now they are buy one get one free.  A great deal,  in my opinion!  I'm really happy with these.  I think in the last six months Hot Topic has really turned around with the quality of their items.  I'm really looking forward to more shades!

Lastly, a random technical question.  Anyone know how to get rid of/change the white border on my pictures?(>д<;)

New Hair ♥

Hello everyone~  How are you?  Usually by this time of year Wisconsin is buried in snow, but would you believe it's 40 degrees and misty outside?  No complaining here, though (´ω` )

A couple weeks ago we reserved our room in Japan!  I'm so excited, we will be staying at Sakura House Jimbocho in the Book District of Tokyo.  We originally were looking at DK House, and even sharing an apartment with a japanese family, but Sakura House Jimbocho has a cute cafe on the first with an all you can eat breakfast for 315 yen.  Not to mention it's closer to Shibuya and Harajuku than DK House.  Doesn't get much better than that!

Trying to save for this month long trip has been so stressful, sometimes I feel like we will never make it.  But now that our room is good to go, it makes me feel like we can actually do this!  Next is deciding on plane tickets (; ̄д ̄)

In more recent news, I colored my hair!

I'm very happy with how it turned out.  It even brings out my purple lens more!

Recently I've been in love with the left girl's coord.  The top is listen flavor, and can be bought on Rakuten (for 90$ ughh..) and the skirt is Milklim.

However, the lavender skirt is sold out on the Milklim site!  I'm hoping it will be restocked, or I can find a blogger willing to sell theirs.  I'm dying to have it~!!

I just want to say thank you to everyone who takes the time to read my blog.  It really means a lot to me!  I have something special planned for when I reach 30 followers~

Till next time! ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ

Kimchi Bambi Series in Violet Review

Hello~  I've just gotten over a terrible cold.  I usually don't get sick until late in winter, but it came earlier this year, and it was horrible!  I had not been that sick in a long time.

A couple weeks ago I received my order from Geo-Lens House.  I'm in love!  Despite my eyes being dark brown, the color appears very vibrant.  It has a black outer ring, violet middle, and a little bit of light brown around the opening.

I wasn't sure how 16mm would look on me, but my eyes are naturally big, so I think it fits them well.  The total for these including shipping was about 27$, and they shipped in just under two weeks.  You can check out their store here: Geo-Lens House

In other news, I will be starting my new side project tonight.  I want to practice japanese as much as I can, and I thought it would be fun to do some twitter translations.  I'm a huge visual kei fan, so naturally I'll be translating bandman tweets.  I will be setting up a tumblr account, and my first translations will be of Satsuki.  As I get better I'll start translating for more bands, but baby steps for now!

Planning for Japan + New Shoes

Good morning~

The past couple weeks my boyfriend and I have been working hard to begin planning our month long trip to Tokyo next summer.  Plane tickets are so stressful.  It would be cheaper for us to find a flight with a layover, but that also means spending up to 13 hours in a different country, and it also means leaving two days earlier than originally planned.  Does anyone have any suggestions for choosing a flight?  This will be our first time to Japan, as well as our first time out of the country, any advice at all will be much appreciated!

On a lighter note, I bought new shoes that I've fallen in love with~!

The brand is Bordello, but I bought them from  hottopic.com.  They came in a gorgeous box, and were individually wrapped inside.  Despite the 5 inch heel, they have a platform in the sole that makes them easy to walk in.    I bought them specifically to go with my halloween panda costume, but I love them so much I think they will get much more use than that!

I recently bought lens from a facebook group called Geo Lens House.  Have you heard of them?  As much as I love shoppingholics, they carry several colors that don't come in prescription.  I'm still waiting for them to come in the mail, I hope they will be good quality!

Back from Vacation~

I can't believe it's been so long since I've posted.  The last few weeks before I left for vacation were so hectic, I couldn't get everything done that I wanted.  But the best news is, my black hair is gone!

Two and a half years ago I cut all my hair off because back then I did not take care of it.  It was so unhealthy, so I decided it was time for a fresh start.  My hair was so short, I cried for hours over it!  But it had to be done.  I wore wigs for several months, until it was long enough for me to style.  And even then it was very short!

I still have a while to go until the length is perfect, but I'm finally happy with the color!

My flower garland tutorial is halfway done, please wait a little longer for it~!

EOS Adult Gray Circle Lens Review

Yesterday I received my free pair of lens from Shoppingholics, the EOS Adult Gray Lens.

I was really excited when I saw the picture on the website because they seemed to show up so well, and I had been planning on getting a pair of gray lens.

However, there is a slight problem!  I can only wear the right one.  Whenever I put the left one in, it constantly moves.  Even if I am not blinking, I can feel the contact slide down my eyeball.  It hurt so bad I had to take it out right away.  I even cleaned it super good and had the same issue when I put it back in.  I'm going to let it sit the weekend in solution, and see if it will be any better on Monday.

Other than that issue, I do really like the color, and I don't mind pairing it with my other GEO Bella Blue Lens.  And despite this setback, I still plan on buying from Shoppingholics, I just hope it was a manufacture error and it won't happen again!

Time for work, but before I head out, I leave you with a preview for my next tutorial!

This one is already finished, so I'll be making a new blue one to match my new parasol for summer.  See you then~

Day Trip to Madison

Hello everyone, and thank you to my new followers.  It really means a lot to me that you read my blog!

Today my cousin and I drove my boyfriend to Madison so he could do his assessment for his medical study.  We had to be there for 7:30 am, which meant waking up at 4 to be out the door by 5.  What a rough morning!

But while he was busy, my cousin and I got to go shopping~!  This was only my second trip ever to State Street, and I wish I would have brought more money!!  I got my hands on a couple of cute items, but I'll definitely be going back to get more.
Dreamsicle Tote Bag from Pop Deluxe
Mamegoma is my most favorite character ever!

Big Pink Sunglasses

Kind of gross, but whatevs.

Hoping to have my new lenses from shoppingholics by the end of the week.  Please look forward to my review!

Victorian Maiden Corsage DIY [img heavy]

While browsing Victorian Maiden's official site, I came across this lovely accessory.

I fell in love!  The sweet flowers and delicate pearl chains were so appealing, I had to have one!  Unfortunately, VM does not ship to America.  I've been feeling super crafty these past few days, so I decided to try my hand at my own flower piece.

You Will Need:
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • pliers
  • one large flower
  • one medium flower
  • one small flower
  • one bobby pin
  • one hairpin
  • string of pearls

First, remove the stems on the back of all the flowers.
You can be creative with how long you choose your pearl strands to be.  The total length for both of my strands is 23 inches, which was just a tad too long for me.  Since my pearls came from an old necklace, I already had a small metal loop inserted into both ends.  I definitely suggest having these because it makes the application much easier.

Next attach both ends of the pearl strand to a larger metal ring,.

Attach the larger metal ring to the top of your hairpin, then use pliers to close the loop.

Take your bobby pin and place close to, but not directly in the middle of, your pearl strand.

Use your hot glue gun to glue the medium sized flower to the end of your bobby pin.  Since the bobby pin does not have much surface area, I got a little glue on the pearls to help hold the flower in place.

Next, take your small flower and position it next to the medium flower, gluing it to the underside of the petals.  Sorry the picture came out so blurry, but I hope you get the idea.
Top view of medium and small flower.

We're almost done!  Put glue along the top of your hairpin...

Secure the large flower into said glue, and ta-daaa!  You're finished!

This piece can be worn with so many different hairstyles.  Here I am wearing it with a simple odango.

What do you think of my first tutorial?  I'm really happy with how it turned out, and can't wait to wear it to work for the first time tomorrow~!  There are endless creative possibilities you can make with this, I'd love to see what you come up with!

GEO Bella Blue Prescription Circle Lens Review

Last week I received my first order from Shoppingholics, a pair of GEO Bella Blue circle lens.

http://www.shoppingholics.com/goods.php?id=155

I was nervous ordering circle lens in prescription because I have really terrible eyesight, and on top of that I have astigmatism.  I have been wearing these for a week now, and I am happy to say that I can see very well in them!!  They are very comfortable, and I can wear them easily for 8+ hours.

In indoor lighting my eyes are noticeably darker and bigger, but the blue does not show very well on my medium brown eyes.  It's much easier to see the blue in sunlight, or in bright lights.  Everyone at my work noticed right away, and commented on how big and cute they were ^-^

Although these lenses are not specifically for astigmatism, I can see well enough in them that it does not bother me at all.  Overall I am very happy with my purchase and am super excited that my bad eyesight won't hold me back form having big cute eyes!

Weekly Haul

Good evening~ I want to share with you my favorite items I got in the last week.

These two dresses are from TJ Maxx.  The purple dress was $14.99, and the grey was $16.99.  TJ Maxx is sooo nice when you are on a budget like me.  We had another blizzard two days ago.  I can't wait for the snow to melt and the weather to go back to normal so I can wear these!

This is a jewelery holder that was on clearance at Icing. It was $10, and it has cute gold birdies and leaves on it.  I've been too busy to actually put any jewelery on it though.

I ordered circle lenses from shoppingholics about week ago now.  I'm soo excited for them to come in, please look forward to my review!

Coco Fashion Review

Good evening!  Just last week I received my first item from Coco Fashion.  Have you heard of this site?  I was surprised by how inexpensive and cute the clothing is!  It seemed too good to be true, but I decided to order something.

I chose a long grey shirt with an image of a cute rabbit.  The price for the shirt is $8.35, and with shipping the entire total was $15.74.  I received an email notification letting me know my order was completed on March 15, and they included a tracking number.  The link they give you to track your package is not very detailed, I suggest this one instead.
I received my package on April 5.  The shirt was just like the picture!  The fabric was soft, and seemed to be of good quality.

However, when shopping on the site you need to pay attention to the measurements it gives.  All clothing items say they are "free size," which is not entirely the case.  Just make sure you are in the range of centimeters it gives before buying something!

There are so many cute items at coco fashion, I can't wait to order more!

A Drink that Burns Calories?

Phew, just got done with my workout.  Before I hope in the shower, I wanted to share this with all you dieters out there!

This drink is called Celsius.  I first heard about it almost two years ago while reading about Katie Holmes and her obsession with being a size zero.  I was told I could find it at Walgreens, but had no luck ever coming across it.  After awhile, I gave up and just forgot about its existence.  Two days ago I was picking up a few things from walmart and decided to get a drink.  And there it was on the top shelf!  At $1.49 a can I grabbed ten and decided to give it a shot.

The drink claims that it can burn 100 calories and more per can,  raise metabolism for 3 hours, and can enhance your workout as well as body composition.  It also contains no sugar, no corn syrup, and no artificial preservatives or colors.

The first one I tried was wildberry flavored.  I was just starting to feel a little hungry when I took it, but I was sipping it slowly because I was at work.  I only had about 3/4 of the can gone by two hours, but I was EXPLODING with energy.  I have never had the 'jitters,' before, but I think that may have been what it was.  My hands were shaking slightly, I felt warm on the inside, and I felt like I could run laps around the store.  Oh, and I no longer felt hungry.  By 4 hours I felt like I was calming down, but I experienced no crash at all.

The second day I tried the orange flavor, which tasted better than wildberry.  I didn't feel the same explosion of energy or jitters, but my hunger pangs and cravings went away.

The drink definitely has a different taste, but I think it's a good way to replace soda, and help burn a few extra calories!
